It all started during the early Italian industrial evolution, where workers were seen to work more efficiently and productively after coffee breaks, however, actual coffee production during this period took an unnecessarily lengthy amount of time – time that could be better utilised. Enter Milanese man - Luigi Bezzera - who resolved this slow production by proactively inventing and developing the Espresso process in 1901 with the word’s first single-serving espresso machine.
